Privacy Policy

When you use this website operated by KidsGive, LLC ("KidsGive"), you agree to the Terms and Conditions for the Use of KidsGive's Websites that can be found at www.karitokids.com.

KidsGive is dedicated to protecting the privacy of the users of its website, especially in cases of children under the age of 13. We want KidsGive's website to be fun and informative for children but at the same time balance that with an assurance to parents and their children that we will be careful with any e-mail addresses and other personal information provided by children and their parents. To ensure that you understand our privacy policy, please review the below in its entirety before you begin use of the website.

Will KidsGive Ever Ask for E-mail Addresses from Children?
In order to log onto karitokids.com, activate a donation, and/or play any games, KidsGive will initially request a user name, password, your first name, your state, your country and zip code (or postal code if outside of the United States), and your e-mail address so that a welcome e-mail and a confirmation of a user name and password can be sent to the e-mail address. This will be true whether the user is a child under 13, a child over 13 or an adult. If the child is under 13, the e-mail address will be deleted from KidsGive's system altogether unless consent is received from a parent or legal guardian as described below.

Will KidsGive Retain E-mail Addresses From Children?
There will be many situations when a child under 13 and their parents will want us to be able to use the child's e-mail and other information from the child (such as his or her hobbies). Children may want to receive updates on the projects that they have chosen, the amount of "World Change" they have amassed, notification regarding contests, notification that a letter has been posted from a child from another country, notification that an e-mail he or she requested was successfully sent to a friend, updates on the website, information on monitored chat rooms, and/or new Karito Kids products available for sale. To do this, KidsGive will need to retain the child's e-mail address. However, KidsGive will not retain the child's e-mail address and/or other personal information unless parental consent has been obtained. Further, KidsGive will not ask a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an activity as a condition of participation.

To obtain parental consent, KidsGive will ask that a child either enter his or her birth date or check a box indicating whether he or she is under or over the age of 13. If the child indicates that he or she is under the age of 13, KidsGive will request that the child ask his or her parent to provide the parent's e-mail address. An e-mail will then be sent to the parent asking for consent to KidsGive's retention and use of the child's e-mail address to send specific information. The parent will be given the opportunity to opt out of having certain information sent to the child's e-mail address by either clicking at the link at the bottom of the e-mail or sending an e-mail to subscribe@kidsgive.com. Anyone receiving an e-mail from KidsGive can always opt out from continuing to receive information.

KidsGive is hopeful that parents will recognize the value of having certain information sent to their children's e-mail. Children will begin to feel like they're part of a community of kids who care. They can be updated on the progress of a charitable progress, making them feel good about how they have contributed and learning how giving continues to benefit others.

At the same time, we recommend that parents take this opportunity to discuss with their children the importance of not providing information to website operators without parental permission. We would also like children to sit down with their parents and read through this privacy policy.

Will the Child's E-Mail Be Used For Any Other Purposes?
If KidsGive wishes to use a child's e-mail address or personal information for any material purpose other than what is listed here, parental consent will again be obtained and/or the new use will be included in this policy. The child's information will not be given to third parties without the parent's consent unless that third party is simply used solely to provide support for the internal operations of the website.
